Turkey Smokin'

Well, Jeff & Jason had their turkey competition on Thanksgiving Day. Jeff has the smoker and green egg thing down to a science but even he conceded to his apprentice. If I had just had Jeff's turkey, he would have won but after tasting Jason's I apologized to Jeff that Jason indeed had won. His brine consisted of garlic, apple juice, apples, oranges, and a few other things. Truly amazing. So another Thanksgiving has come and gone. Not much work for me this year other than our breadstick cornucopia. That was a tradition started in AZ with Heather. We miss our AZ framily!! Eating, games, and a movie. Now I'm trying to stay in a thankful mindframe even though life is challenging. On our "thankful tree" were some of the following: family, blankies, friends, job, Andrea!, beds, brother/sister, God's mercy. And now I'm thankful that the cold weather spell is supposed to end starting tomorrow. Thank goodness.

Are you serious?!!! I soooo miss everyone. I wonder how much longer we'll be an "island unto ourselves."

Cold? Like what, down to 40?

The turkey sounds amazing. I think we'll have to try smoking one next year.
